"BAG CARE"
CareLabl scans your bag and tells you exactly how to care for what it's made of — leather, coated canvas, suede, and more. In plain English.
"HOW IT WORKS"
Point your camera at the bag. CareLabl figures out what it's made of and returns a complete care guide — no Googling, no guessing.
Body, handles, hardware — all in one shot. Add interior and branding photos for sharper results on ambiguous materials.
Body, handles and straps, lining, hardware — identified separately. Coated canvas body with vachetta handles? It sees the difference.
What to avoid. A cleaning routine. How to store it. Specific to your bag's exact materials — not a generic guide for "leather bags."
"MATERIALS WE COVER"
CareLabl identifies each component separately and applies material-specific rules — so your vachetta handles get different advice than the coated canvas body they're attached to.
Leather conditioners and oils damage the coating. Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth — and store upright, never stacked or creased.
Monogram canvas, Goyard styleDyed denim transfers to pebbled and smooth leather. Condition every few months, apply a protector spray, and always store in a dust bag.
Saffiano, pebbled, calfskinWater spots are permanent. Handle with clean, dry hands. Let the patina develop evenly — and keep it away from finished-leather conditioners.
Natural veg-tan, undyed leatherNever rub a wet stain. Brush with a suede brush to lift the nap, use a suede eraser for dry marks, and keep a protector spray in rotation.
Suede, nubuck, brushed leatherAvoid heat — it warps the fabric. Spot clean with mild soap and water, air dry, and skip the abrasive brushes that cause runs and pulls.
Nylon, technical fabricWater warps and weakens the fibers. Dust after use, blot spills immediately with a barely-damp cloth, and store where nothing rests on top.
Straw, raffia, rattan, woven grassColor transfers from dark clothing are permanent. Never use solvents. Wrap in soft tissue for storage so nothing touches the glossy surface.
Patent, lacquered leatherNo DIY cleaning. Dust with a dry microfiber cloth — with the grain of the scales — and leave the rest to an exotic-leather specialist.
Crocodile, alligator, snake, ostrichHeat and direct sun accelerate cracking and peeling. Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, and store in a cool, ventilated space — not sealed plastic.
PU, synthetic coated, pleather"A NOTE ON WHAT WE DON'T DO"
CareLabl tells you what your bag is made of and how to look after it. It doesn't comment on authenticity, brand verification, or resale value. That's a deliberate choice — the app is a care tool, not an authentication service. Whatever your bag is, it deserves good care.
One scan. Plain-language care. For every material on the bag — body, handles, lining, hardware.
